You are an artist! I love my beautiful new fireplace. You were so helpful with your advice on color, proportions etc. Thank you! Everything was installed quickly and perfectly. No mess was left behind. The two young men who work for you were pleasant to have in my home.

I would be happy to have anyone stop by and look at our fireplace. I want the whole town to be as thrilled as I am with this great addition to our home.

Sincerely,

November 29, 2009

To Whom It May Concern:

A few years ago my wife and I decided we needed to redo our 35 year-old fireplace. Trying to decide what kind of a fireplace we wanted was not an easy decision. We subscribe to the Architectural Digest Magazine and had studied their issues over the last few years. Most of the mantels pictured in homes were cast stone.

We decided that was the look we wanted in our home.

We checked around Ogden, Utah, where we live and found no companies carrying cast stone fireplaces. We went to the Internet and found a couple of companies in Salt Lake City. The first company we checked with had few examples, but nothing we liked. Our next stop was Artisan Mantels. As we walked into the door, Paul Manwaring, the owner, greeted us. We told him what we had in mind and he began to show us the variations in fireplace mantels that were available. The showroom was very impressive. He also had many other examples in books showing fireplace mantels he had installed. My wife prefers simple and I prefer ornate. With Paul’s diplomatic way of showing us variations, we both came to a compromise. While doing this he impressed us as being a very honest and dependable man.

After being married for 44 years, I know my wife very well. She never makes an on-the-spot decision. She has to think it over for a couple of days or weeks. After Paul mapped out what he could make and quoted us a very reasonable price, my wife very unexpectedly and surprisingly said she would take the fireplace. He was willing to come to our home and take measurements the following Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Sure enough, when 10:00 a.m. arrived he was right at our door with a picture of the fireplace he had drawn out with the CAD program. We made a couple of small changes, which he graciously said would be no problem. Now the next step was deciding when it could be installed. He worked around our schedule with an installation date within three weeks. We couldn’t have been more pleased.

The next week he showed up to do all the carpentry and wall boarding needing to be done. Two weeks later he installed the fireplace mantel–all in one day. Neighbors dropping by to see what we had been doing were in awe. What a difference it made in our room.

Would I recommend Paul Manwaring and his Artisan Mantel Company to other people? YES, without any reservations? Perfection describes his work, his prices are very reasonable and he possesses the highest integrity.

Sincerely yours,

Larry Leatham
